Could You Make It Easier Please?
Just got told I need to soften up the training and diets I provide.
Why? How? A program is a list of exercises with weights and reps. It’s already as hard or soft as the client chooses to do it. It’s been customised to them based on their strength and their goal.
I could write a program full of useless pointless exercises that do absolutely nothing. I could include things that can't be measured, but then I would be told that the program is full of useless exercises that do nothing and none of it can be measured, and that the program I provided is shit!
So I don’t do that.
I could give a person a clean eating plan that is as vague as the typical diet given by personal trainers.
Eat: “Approximately a palm sized piece of meat with close to a fist full of carbs plus roughly a hand sized serving of greens.”
I could do that and the first thing the client would ask is, “How much is a palm size? What kind of meat would you recommend?” There is also no way of accurately measuring what any of it did because it would change from day to day. If it doesn’t work, what do we change? What didn’t work? Then I would be told the diet I provided didn’t work.
So I don’t do that.
I could soften it up. I could make it as vague as possible. But I’d prefer to do my job correctly and provide the client everything they need.
The training program tells them the exercises to do, sets to do, reps to do, days to train and days to rest. All customised to the clients strength and goals.
The diet tells the client the foods to eat, quantities to eat and then it is put into a suggested meal plan. The foods are chosen by the client. Not me. It’s not my diet.
Once the client has all this information it is their job to execute it.
Do the training and eat the food. My job then is to simply measure what it did.
How strict the client chooses to follow the diet? Completely up to them.
How hard the client chooses to push the training? Completely up to them.
The clients results? Completely up to them.
Get the best possible training program and diet to begin with. Then you have the luxury of choosing how far you want to take it. Getting a bad program and a bad diet from a person who has no idea on how to train and diet wont give you the results you’re after even if it’s followed 100%
I don't give clients soft training programs or vague diets because bad training and bad diets give bad results.
